Hi! Nice to meet you!

My name is Amanda Mertel, and I am the face behind Crayon Letters KC. I have lived in Kansas City my whole life, and I absolutely love it here!

I am a former high school English teacher. I taught for seven years, and this past year was my first year not teaching to be able to spend more time with my boys. I found myself creating activities for my boys while we were at home, especially during the COVID pandemic which is what brought me to creating these crayon letters. I found that I enjoyed creating these in my free time. I also saw that my boys, especially my three year old, enjoyed not only coloring with them, but utilizing them to work on his alphabet and numbers. Therefore, I saw that these had many benefits in helping my children learn, and I wanted to share these crayon letters with others.

My husband and I have two boys. I couldn’t have started this up without my husband’s support, and I am so excited to see where this business takes me.
